SMART-81 Color Density Adjustment Guide
The SMART-81 printer allows users to fine-tune density settings for each individual color channel, black/resin, and overlay. These adjustments can significantly improve print clarity and quality, especially when printing barcodes or high-contrast images.
Use these options to enhance color vibrancy, sharpen monochrome output, and ensure proper resin transfer. Optimal settings may vary depending on environmental conditions and card types.
🟦 Density Options Overview
- Total Density: Adjusts the overall output intensity for both color and resin. Ideal for quick, global adjustments.
- Color (YMC) Density: Controls the intensity of the yellow, magenta, and cyan elements.
- Too high: May result in color imbalances (green or red tints)
- Too low: Can produce washed-out or faded images
- Black (K) Density: Fine-tunes monochrome black ink. This is critical for barcodes or sharp text.
- Too high: Can cause barcode bleeding or unreadable elements
- Too low: May result in thin, faint lines
- Resin (X) Density: Adjusts the strength of the resin layer (commonly used in security or holographic panels).
- Too strong: Can cause folding or stripes in the ribbon
- Too weak: May not transfer properly; resin becomes nearly invisible
- Tip: Inspect resin print under light at an angle for clarity
