How To Update Firmware on IDP Smart Series Printers

Step 1: Download the Latest Firmware

Please download the latest firmware for your printer model. Firmware downloads are available through our main driver and software page:

Go to Firmware & Driver Downloads

Once on the page, locate your printer model and download the corresponding firmware package.

Scroll down until you see a firmware file like the example below:

Download and extract the firmware ZIP file to a known location.

Step 2: Download the Firmware Update Utility

Next, download the official firmware update utility using the link below:

Extract the ZIP file and run CardPrinterFirmware.exe. You should see a window similar to the one below:

Step 3: Update the Firmware

In the utility window, your connected printer should appear under the Devices list. Select the printer, then click Browse and navigate to the firmware folder you extracted earlier. Choose the appropriate .BIN file, then click Update to begin the firmware upgrade process.

Please allow the update to complete fully. Do not disconnect the printer during this process.
